Kristina Nordin Wesenlund

Hello and welcome to my artistic world!

Ever since I can remember, I have been drawing and creating in some form. When I was 20, my best friend and I were making and selling jewelry. This allowed us to pack our backpacks and go to Central America for six months. It was the beginning of several years of traveling the world, interspersed with living in France. I believe that my art in many ways reflects my impressions of the world at a young age.

Animals have a great importance in my life and I really enjoy giving them my own expression in pictures. I often hear people say that there is a lot of humor in my pictures, which makes me happy. Listening to my inner self and painting what comes to me is of course important to me, and a way to develop and keep my creativity alive. Painting abstract art in periods is liberating, undemanding and a way to find new inspiration.

I usually paint in oil and a technique called putrido. I start with egg oil tempera and gradually mix in oil paint. The depth and intensity of the colors is what I am hooked on.

Ten years ago I started painting regularly and exhibiting my art, which I still do.

For many years I worked as an acupuncturist and masseuse, but now I alternate my painting with working as a craft teacher in the textile studio at a daycenter.

I live with my husband, our two dogs and three cats in the archipelago outside Stockholm,Sweden.

I'm so glad you found my art! Please let me know if you have any questions.
